Week #7: 💣🔨💣



This week was the deadline for 2036's second prototype, and as such, in preparation for the third dev cycle, I've been reorganizing our files, cleaning out every unused asset, fixing bugs, and removing all the "code hammers" that had to be added at the last minute due to missed bugs or functionality added in a hurry.

Starting the 3rd dev cycle, I've been improving the AI, warming up by implementing trespassing zones were non-enemy NPCs detect the player - if the player's outfit is not allowed in the zone - and moving on to overhauling the detection system (to include this feature) and taking cues from games like Splinter Cell that have 3 detection "view cones" for each NPC - including a small one behind the character that detects when the player is almost touching the character from behind - and ray trace from the enemy NPC's eye level to 8 bones on the player's character's model - to understand if the player is in partial cover.
